Sammamish Farmers Market Celebrates Another Successful Season

Sammamish Chamber of Commerce

By: Sammamish Chamber

The Sammamish Farmers Market had a successful 2024 season, attracting 45,000+ visitors, 134 vendors, and hosting engaging events. Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, and the community.

The Sammamish Farmers Market wrapped up another fantastic season, bringing together the community in support of local vendors, fresh produce, and volunteer spirit. Over the course of 19 market days—one fewer than last year—the market continued to thrive, attracting an impressive number of visitors and participants.

This year’s market saw over 45,000 visitors, a testament to the ongoing popularity and impact the market has on the Sammamish community. Shoppers explored 600+ unique products from a diverse range of local businesses, farms, and artisans, making the market a one-stop destination for fresh, local, and handmade goods. A total of 134 vendors participated throughout the season, offering everything from fresh produce and baked goods to handmade crafts and specialty items, creating an exciting and vibrant atmosphere.

A significant part of our success this year can be credited to our new market manager, Pam Saito, who brought her creative talents and deep familiarity with farmers’ markets to the table. Pam’s leadership and innovative ideas helped elevate the market experience for both vendors and visitors, contributing to our thriving season.

Our Power of Produce (POP) program, sponsored by TLC Montessori, was a hit once again, engaging local kids in healthy eating and agriculture. This year, 260 children signed up for the program, with 507 total visits recorded, as kids collected their POP coupons and learned about fresh, local produce.

A major highlight was the Children’s Business Fair, inspired by 9-year-old Naisha Sahay from Sammamish. With guidance from Chamber Executive Director Julie Honn, Naisha organized the event, recruiting 10 local kids to sell their handmade creations. Coach Mara, author of The Little Books of Big Business, also spoke on entrepreneurship, making it an inspiring event for young participants.

We also hosted several special theme days that celebrated community spirit and highlighted important causes:

  • Pride Day
  • Emerging Entrepreneurs
  • Stay Healthy Sammamish
  • Sustainable Sammamish
  • Non-Profit Day
  • Welcome Week

Entertainment was a big part of the market’s atmosphere this year. We were thrilled to have three Open Mic Nights and live performances that brought local talent to the forefront. In particular, we were honored to have two local Sammamish bands, The Paula Boggs Band and Mara and the Charm, perform during the season. Their performances were highlights of the market, energizing the crowd and adding to the community feel.

None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our amazing sponsors: the City of SammamishMetropolitan MarketBECUArbor MontessoriProvidence SwedishEastside CatholicWorld Tae Kwon Do, and Republic Services. The support of these organizations is crucial to the market’s ongoing success, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment.

With over 250 volunteer hours and the hard work of all involved, the Sammamish Farmers Market continues to be a beloved community event, promoting sustainability, local businesses, and a strong sense of togetherness. We’re already looking forward to another successful season next year!

A big thank you to all of our vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and visitors for making this season such a success!
